whatcha doin'?

I don't know about you but I love watching Phineas and Ferb, I think its pretty awesome.  The things I love about it, well here's a list.

1. Doof cracks me up. He is my favorite among the characters.Him and Perry's frenemy relationship is strange and when Perry sung the song "Missing My Nemesis" , oddly enough, it brought tears to my eyes.It simply shows how Perry's life could be dull without Doof in it. Doof is like the typical evil scientist who claimed to suffer a dreadful childhood that left him scarred for the rest of his life. Hence all the revenge schemes and evil inventions ( which names always suffixed with "-inator". ). I even find myself sometimes singing that jingle, "Doofenshmirts Evil Incorporated", I don't know why but its just so catchy ;).

2. I love how Isabella say the "whatcha doin'?" phrase. It sounds so sweet and dreamy-like..hmmm

3.  Phineas character is of a good kid. Apart from being extremely smart and creative, he also cares about his sister Candace (who always tries to bust him and Ferb no matter what). My all time fave invention of the brothers is the Giant Rollercoaster, it's awesome.

4. I just adore the songs written for the series. There is one I really like, the song sung by Vanessa (daughter of Doof)," Not So Bad A Dad After All".  Most of the times she gets frustrated or embarrassed by her fathers eccentric behavior but she eventually understands that he really does try to look out for her best interests and do love her in his own peculiar way.

5. Did I mention that I'm already in my late 20's? Well now you know but I'm pretty sure I am never too old for this show. It's a great show enjoyed literally by folks of all ages. I mean ya' know I watch The Simpsons,Family Guy and sometimes South Park. But those are for adult audiences with all the raunchy humor and violence. Phineas and Ferb is a show that is targeted for children, but they include stuffs that adults can enjoy as well. So I don't mind watching it with Zayne who is three years old, well almost. ;)

Purely Karen

Karen

-is of Scandinavian origin. Means pure. Just like my friend Karen. She is just who she is. No masks, no pretensions. Purely Karen.

I heard once that most of the times, people we choose to be our friends are people who have personality traits that we wished we have. I couldn't agree more, I admired Karen's love for fun and excitement.

It was 15 years ago when I met her. We went to highschool together. At first, I wasn't really fond of her,

I mean, she was just so over friendly, animated and gay and maybe I was the opposite. But somehow we just clicked. We became instant bestfriends. Apart from being talented, gorgeous and sexy (utang nato) , she was one those people who was friends with everybody in school. Always had something pleasant to say and no matter what was going on she could get you to smile. That was how she was like, Miss Congeniality and still is now. And the good thing was, she seemed to have infected me with her very outgoing and vivacious personality, well, sort of.

I remember, back in highschool she had a crush on someone. I'm not gonna name names ;) Anyway I knew he liked her too, who wouldn't, ya know? I remember he asked her once to dance with her and I'm pretty sure the song by Lighthouse Family, Lost in Space still rings a bell. Oh God, the whole time he was dancing with her, it seemed like the whole class was giggling too.

I also remember how Karen and I along with several other classmates managed to ride on a motorela (with no money and care in the world), and just as we were about to reach our destination, we would jumped out of it and let our forever dependable treasurer Ms. Gemma Yt. to pay the fare. Sorry Gem. Oh yes, we had our share of "pamukongs".

I bet the sexy, Ms. Glenda B.still recalls how Karen and I, out of impulse, just hopped on the jeepney with her on it just to see where she lived without any invitation.( Oh it was so against her will!). Spontaneity, oh yes we love and practice that word.

When I ran for a position in the Student Body Organization, she was like my one-man cheering team, (Go Gigi), she supported me all the way, even though I lost, she was still there. She had to be, lol.

Once we were scolded by our english teacher Mrs. Tero (God rest her soul) for being so loud and obnoxious in class (yes of all people, the two of us). Then she went on comparing us with the beautiful Ms. Apple Jean who as Mrs. Tero labelled as reserved and quite, and we were like whispering, " you gotta be kidding us Maam, Apple Jean? She was as crazy as we were, you just didn't catch her with her various antics." Lol

Yes K, I remember our glory days. I remember it all.

Karen you will always be a part of me, and so as the few real friends I have. But you guess it right, you, I think is my ultimate bff. I love you. Because you are just simply Karen Marie.

Love,

Gg

Karen and I

Just like me

My lil girl, Suzy a.k.a Tating, just turned 5 a month ago, and she is growing up so fast. She turns out to be such a sweet lil child. I don't remember much of my own childhood, you know, what I was like, and what I did mostly, but my mom said, she is becoming just like me.(not sure if Suzy would like that though). But that being said, I think what my mother meant when she said that, was, just like me, my Suzy is:

1. quite sensitive, emotional to that effect. She cries easily over sad movie scenes. I began to notice that when she was 2, and she was watching a scene from the movie Tarzan, you know, when Baby Tarzan was separated from her mother, and she began to cry, like really crying, I was quite touched yet amused by her sensitiveness.

2. not afraid to speak out her own mind and fight for what she believes in (well my mom labels that as, talking back and being stubborn, lol). Oh yes, she always have reasons to disagree with me all the time..

3. a tough lil cookie. When she scrapes her knees or falls, she doesn't cry (sure, you could see tears around the corners of her lil eyes) but she doesn't go screaming and crying a river because of it.

4. funny, silly and a dreamer. She likes to become a dentist, a doctor, a nurse, and a farmer when she grows up. I told her its impossible to juggle several jobs at once, she then answered, " Ma, I will be a doctor after I become a dentist, then a nurse after that, then have my farm and so on and so forth."
Wouldn't that make you smile?

5. a typical Gemini. She wants to be here, there and everywhere. She likes to do this and that. She can't decide between Justin Beiber and Ringo (Coco Martin). She is restless.(is that good or bad) I think just like me, she is born with the "itch". The urge to explore the world and understand the workings of existence. And just like me, I think she would think of life as just a short visit here on earth, I have to do everything possible to make the visit an exciting an adventurous one. Hence, all the traveling (if I could afford it), all the romances (no comment), all the ambition, and all the food in the world.I know it still early to predict that, and each one of us is bound to live a different life from others but ( hey) Gemini people are oftentimes, like that.

6. kind to others. Sometimes, though, she exaggerates her kindness by giving most of her clothes and shoes to less-fortunate ones.(leaving her with a few pieces). Now, we are not wealthy by any means but if she happens to see lil kids with torn and ragged clothes, she would then look at me, with a look that seems to say " Mama, shall we give them my clothes?".Sigh.And for that, I am very proud of her.

Okay, well those so far, are the things that me and her share for the most part (if you agree with the me part (big grin). But of course, there are other sides of her that seem to be the opposite of mine. Maybe, those things written above rather surprised me because its like watching myself grow up from my very own eyes.
I know it's not my fantastic, ahem, parenting (by the way, thanks to my sisters for looking after her when I am away), that created such a sweet girl, I think she just came out that way. Sometimes I just look at her, without her knowing and I then think to myself, what a wonderful world.
